What are metallic water stills?

Laboratory metal distillers are devices used to purify water through the process of distillation. This process involves heating water until it becomes a vapour and then condensing it back into liquid form, removing impurities and contaminants. In this type of distiller, all components in contact with the water are made of stainless steel: the boiler (where the water is heated), the cooler (where the water is condensed) and the level (determines the water level inside the boiler). These devices are essential for producing high purity water needed in numerous scientific procedures and experiments.

What are laboratory metallic stills used for? 

Metallic water stills have many essential uses:

What material are Pobel metallic stills made of?

All Pobel metallic stills consist of stainless steel boilers, coolers, levels and heating elements. The outer metal casings are made of steel and coated with epoxy paint.

How are metallic laboratory water stills used?

Depending on the model, our metallics water stills have different levels of automation and can be classified into semi-automatic and automatic models. Automatic distillers are those that work with total autonomy during the whole distillation process: they switch off when the storage vessel is filled with distilled water, restarting their activity when the stored water is used up. Semi-automatic distillers shut down for safety reasons when the water flow into the distiller is insufficient and it is up to the user to shut down the distiller when he/she considers it necessary.

Types of Pobel Metallic Water Stills

DESA Series - Water still model DESA - Available in 4, 8 and 12 litres/hour

Series of high quality semi-automatic and continuous production distillers with a safety mechanism that disconnects the heating elements in case of insufficient water level and reconnects them when the water level recovers.

Made of stainless steel and epoxy paint, it is easily dismountable for cleaning. It includes a switch with signal light and thermostat for protection against overheating.

The DESA model is available in 4 and 8 litres/hour (230 V) and 12 litres/hour (380 V). The model producing 4 litres/hour is available in 110 V.

DETA Series - DETA model water still with tank - Available in 4 and 8 litres/hour

Series of automatic and continuous production distillers. Includes storage tank for the water produced (the capacity of the tank is 10 litres for the 4 l/hour model and 16 litres for the 8 l/hour model).

Stainless steel coolant and heating elements. Excellent distillation quality. Safety mechanism that switches off the heaters when the cooling water flow decreases and switches on again when the cooling water flow recovers. When the resulting water storage tank is full, the unit stops working and restarts as the water is consumed. With thermostat, which protects the unit in case of overheating, and distilled water dispensing tap. They are fitted with a wall-mounting bracket.

The DETA model is available in 4 and 8 litres/hour (230 V). The model that produces 4 litres/hour is available in 110 V.
